About Me
About Me
Over the years I have dealt with chronic back pain, gut issues and in 2014 was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It was devastating. I was sad and angry - all the emotions came out. There were so many fears and unknowns. But I was determined that this diagnosis would not define me.
You see, I found a way to see things differently and followed a different, unconventional path. I opted out of taking the highly recommended drugs, and instead experimented with different approaches including: food, movement, mindset, and energy work.
I was fortunate enough to be connected with a Functional Medicine Practitioner who ordered a number of tests. The focus of Functional Medicine is to determine the root cause of the symptoms being experienced and then address it via lifestyle, nutrition and supplements. Through the testing I discovered I had Lyme's (plus other co-infections), gut dysbiosis and mold exposure. Lyme's is the great mimicker of many autoimmune conditions, so this was particularly interesting.
I believe the body is capable of healing given the right inputs, circumstances and mindset. Here’s what I discovered:
*food is medicine and provides critical information to your cells
*mindset and beliefs are powerful tools for change
*the moving meditations of Qigong removed the “fear” around the MS diagnosis
*consistency is key
*everyone’s journey is unique – there is no one magic formula that can be applied to all humans
I now live a symptom free, abundant life. And I am so incredibly grateful.
My journey led me to become a Well-Being & Empowerment Coach. My certifications include:
Certified Wellness Coach - Mayo Clinic
Certified Functional Nutrition Coach - mindbodygreen
Certified Practice Group Leader - Spring Forest Qigong
I am here to help you discover your unique path to healing and well-being. Finding your own way might require courage, and to step outside of your comfort zone and I am here to support you every step of the way.
